This version of the beloved two burner cast iron griddle was produced in 1950, and was called a Utility Grill at the time. This iteration of the griddle featured distinctive reinforcement ribs on the bottom to prevent warping. The vintage design has been faithfully recreated with the highest level of care and attention to detail, and this particular piece is based on measurements taken from the Wagner family's personal collection.

Solid griddle

I got this cast iron griddle to add to our camping gear and it has been fantastic. It's perfect for cooking breakfast over an open flame and can handle eggs, bacon and pancakes all with ease. As with all cast iron products, it needs to be seasoned well to maintain the patina, and dried immediately after being used. It cleans up well and anytime anything gets stuck on it, I just heat it up, add a bit of coarse salt and some elbow grease and it comes right off. This is a staple in our camping gear and once it cools we just place it back in the beautiful box it came in to keep it from the elements. It looks beautiful and cooks beautifully as well. Highly recommend!

Good investment, although pricey. High quality, American made cast iron.

The griddle arrives in a basic wooden box that adds a nice touch for presentation or gifting, though it’s not built for long-term use or heavy handling. I wouldn't plan on toring this griddle back in the box at any point, as it's not the smoothest open/close action. Since the box isn’t essential for use or storage, this isn’t a major concern, though the stamped lid might be worth repurposing as part of a wall mount display.

The griddle itself is American-made, pre-seasoned, and clearly crafted with care using traditional methods. It has a slightly rough surface with a few pits—normal for newer cast iron—but it performed well right out of the box. Cleaning was simple with soap and water (contrary to popular belief, this won’t ruin the seasoning), and after heating it up and applying a fresh layer of oil, it was ready to go. It handled French toast, pancakes, eggs, and even Spam with ease, offering enough space for 3–4 slices at once. Although these are fairly non-stick, I'd still use small amount of oil or butter for nonstick cooking at heat. We've had breakfast, lunch, and dinners using this and it handles any food you throw on it.

While it’s a bit thinner than some high-end cast iron pieces, it's not flimsy—just designed with portability in mind. Reinforcements help prevent warping, and it delivers solid heat distribution, especially on a grill or smoker. The only minor critique is that the grease groove could be slightly deeper, but it doesn’t impact performance. For cast iron enthusiasts, this is a high-quality, visually appealing piece that's built to be used and shown off, not tucked away.

Is it worth the hefty price tag it comes with? Only you can answer that. Personally, I love this griddle, but do think the price is a bit on the steep side. That being said, I can tell that if I treat this well throughout the course of my life, I will be able to pass it down to future generations. So $240 to have something last longer than I will? That's a worthwhile investment in my book.

High quality griddle

This is a high quality heavy cast iron griddle. Fits well over two burners on our stove providing equal heat across the entire cooking area. Griddle came in a nice wood box making sure no damage was incurred in shipping. Great for cooking in and outdoors.

Amazing

The instructions say this is good for any heat source so I put it to the test while camping over an open flame! It performed beautifully and cooked our food so quickly and evenly. This griddle is definitely overkill for most people but as you know, overkill always delivers.
I will be passing down this griddle as it will never age. I’m very happy with this!

A True American Classic—Built to Last Generations

Wagner is the quintessential American brand. When I met my wife 30 years ago, she had a Wagner dutch oven passed down from her mom—it became part of our family story. Our daughters still talk about it. So when I saw Wagner was making this double-burner griddle, I didn’t hesitate.

It absolutely delivers. Pancakes come out perfect—soft in the middle, with just the right amount of crisp on the edges. This griddle is more than cookware—it’s heirloom quality. I have no doubt our daughters will one day argue over who gets it when we’re gone!

Wow, what a beautifully made heirloom-quality griddle!

We grew up with our parents cooking on cast iron kitchen gear they'd inherited from their parents. We inherited several pieces as well, but a griddle was never in the mix. So, when I saw this beautiful griddle, I didn't hesitate to bring it home. And here's why you shouldn't hesitate, either.

1. The quality and finish are impeccable. Smooth edges, no pits or blemishes anywhere.
2. It is preseasoned and ready to use right out of its nice wooden box. We did wipe it off first:>)
3. The brown color pops! All our other cast iron skillets are deep black, but this beauty and brown color stand apart.
4. It cooks great, catching the bacon fat in the channel around the outer edge of the griddle.
5. It fits perfectly on our cafe-style cooktop/oven.

Whether you are like us and already have some experience with cast iron and how well it prepares food, or are looking to get started, you want to introduce your kitchen to this griddle. It's a match made in culinary heaven!

I'm a huge fan.

Wow straight out of the beautiful box. This piece looked fantastic. Then washed and wipped with a light super thin coat of oil. 1st cook was eggs over easy. NO sticking at all. This gorgeous piece continues to impress with every cook.

A beautiful piece of cast iron history

A beautiful piece of cast iron history perfectly reproduced. My hope is too see more Wagner pieces brought back from the past. They just don't make them like they used to.

Perfect Griddle, Checks all the boxes!

I've been looking for a two burner griddle for some time. I ditched my aluminum cookware and went with cast iron and steel. But finding a griddle was not simple. While vintage iron was attractive, finding pieces in good condition at a reasonable price proved to be harder than you'd think. I grew up in Montana and enjoyed fishing and hunting this scenic state. We had a hunting cabin built in the 40's and still no electricity or running water. A Majestic wood cook stove in the kitchen with the best cookware you could ask for in an old cabin. There was a two burner griddle that made beautiful pancakes. I wasn't into cast iron then and never knew what brand it was. But I knew I wanted one. There was a four burner griddle in the cabin made from the lid of a cast iron Maytag wringer washer. I thought it was a real pan at first. It was seasoned nicely like the rest of the cast iron pieces. Wood stoves with the flat surface hold any size and shape pan.
My search for a griddle found three in current production that I considered. I wanted a smooth finish and needed it to fit my gas range for a fair price. I have a manufactured home with inexpensive appliances. The one had real fancy handles and was nice looking but did not fit on my range. The other was a bit too big also and would not sit flat on my grates. And both were bit pricey. But then I found the Wagner, perfect size for my range with handles out of the way. A smooth finish and lays flat on the grates. And definitely the best price of the three. So I gifted myself a new Wagner griddle for Christmas. Huckleberry pancakes in my future, MMMMMMM

Not a chef, but I love my breakfast and griddle cooking

Ever since I was about 13 in scouts and fell in love with campfire cooking, I have always loved the spaciousness of griddle cooking. Getting this to translate into my home range has always been a challenge. I never have enough pan space to get it done right, and easy. I now have the space to grill, scramble and fry and get it done the way it should be, on cast iron. I love the weight and quality. As with any cast iron cookware piece care and understanding are paramount and I have just enough of both to be a good breakfast cook. My eggs are great, and it cooks a real even pancake with room on the side for more cooking. Heat distribution is learned but consistent once you get it right, there are no HOT spots but some degree of variance to be expected away from a heat source. Cleanup is easy as long as you do it right away. Really made me like cooking breakfast at home again.

A true workhorse griddle that feels like an heirloom

We cook a lot at home, and I’ve been wanting a good griddle that could handle everything from pancakes for the kids to smash burgers on the grill. This Wagner cast iron griddle has been fantastic. It’s heavy, solid, and feels like it will last forever. The fact that it’s a vintage reissue and made in the USA is a nice touch.

The pre-seasoning was actually pretty good out of the box—eggs slid around without sticking after a light oil wipe, and it only gets better each time we use it. It fits perfectly across two burners on our stove, and I’ve also used it outside on the grill without any issues. The heat distribution is even, which makes cooking easier, especially with things like pancakes where you don’t want hot spots.

It does need the usual cast iron care (dry it right away and keep it lightly oiled), but that’s part of the charm for me. The wooden box it comes in is beautiful and makes it feel special—almost like an heirloom piece. If you enjoy cooking and want something that works just as well for a quick family breakfast as it does for outdoor grilling, this griddle is worth it.

Very nice multi use and high quality

First thing I noticed was the quality; it was very good, sturdy, strong, and I could use it literally on any cooking device from outside bbq pit to inside oven and stovetop. It comes pre-seasoned and has some nonstick qualities to it. I don't know much about metals and such but I know I quite enjoyed this and was able to cook both chicken and vegetables together on the stovetop and make pancakes on it another day. It was very easy to clean and had the basics of cast iron care which I am used to. It's pricy but its worth it.

Stunning & High Quality

This is absolutely gorgeous, and something I expect to become a family heirloom in the future.

The packaging is great for a gift (though I ordered it for myself). Thus far I've used it on my gas range and it's been amazing, but I'm considering using it on the grill as well.

It is very heavy, which is to be expected with the material. I'm in love.

This is a gorgeous, timeless piece that also works amazingly well!

I actually got this as a replacement for a Lodge-branded griddle that worked fairly well, but I felt like it didn't quite have enough ability to spread heat evenly.

This Wagner does a perfect job of spreading heat. I've been using this on a gas range to make smashburgers and sear sandwiches, and there isn't a spot on this thing after preheating that feels like it's notably colder than any others. The preseason on it is also gorgeous - they definitely sealed it with some solid stuff that gives it that nice bronze patina. And the nonstick on it is immediately perfect. I was able to break an egg on this thing, hot out of the box (not even a pre-wipedown) and it perfectly removed itself with a single spatula flip. The channels for holding grease are also pretty nice, and can do a pretty decent job of holding a moderate amount - don't expect to cook 2 pounds of bacon on this without draining it though.

So when it comes to price, I mean this thing is -really- expensive. Yes, it looks gorgeous, and is based on an old spec, and comes in this pretty lovely wooden gift box - but $250 is a lot to ask. Even the Le Creuset griddle (a much worse product with frankly bewildering amounts of pockmarks on the surface) is priced at less than half this, and even that asking price is too much for the LC. Then again, you are not going to be looking at this unless you know specifically what this is. To find this kind of design resale from that era is going to probably cost you a lot more, unless you're wildly lucky at a garage sale or a Goodwill.

At the end of the day, this would make a phenomenal wedding gift or "the griddle to end all griddles" purchase. This is the kind of thing that you will have for decades (centuries if you play your cards right) and I'm absolutely convinced that for me, this third griddle I've bought (yikes) is finally the right one.

Built to last forever

Gorgeous! I have wanted one of these for my entire adult life and finally took the plunge. Yes, this is a more expensive product. BUT it will outlast all of us. This is an heirloom. So, as a wedding or anniversary gift, it is perfect. Enduring. I love that it is made with the original method - modern cast iron is not going to last like this will. It came beautifully packaged in a wooden box with sliding lid. Truly meant to be given! With proper seasoning and cleaning, this is no doubt going to make all my pancakes and bacon until I expire.

The Best Griddle I’ve Owned

This is an excellent griddle. It is very heavy and very well made. I use it to cook bacon and eggs on the grill. The channel in it catches the grease and prevents it from starting a fire in the grill. It comes pre seasoned which is a nice touch. This will last practically forever.
